Bituminous mastic is an excellent waterproofing material

When people began to build their own homes, they had to deal with many issues related to the quality of the building. For some time the main task was – the choice of good building material. However, after people began to put houses on the foundation, there was a need to isolate it from groundwater. And for many centuries, builders have been constantly looking for a suitable material that could reliably protect the building from the influence of water.

Currently, one of these materials is a special mastic, which has excellent waterproofing properties. And at the Kiev Paint and Varnish Plant, waterproofing mastic is produced, the price of which will suit any consumer. The creation of such a mastic became possible due to the unique properties of bitumen. Since ancient times, people have learned to use natural bitumen in their everyday life. It should be noted that the waterproof properties of bitumen made it possible to make ancient dishes from it, which regularly served people before the advent of clay products.

Gradually, bitumen began to be used in the performance of construction work. Its water resistance helped to save buildings made of wood for a long time. This property of bitumen was especially appreciated in areas where wood was rare, and therefore a precious building material, in particular, bitumen was widely used in construction in ancient Mesopotamia. The creators of the beautiful did not bypass bitumen, they used it as a binder when creating beautiful mosaic panels from semiprecious stones. By the way, some samples of these works have survived to this day.

Modern industry makes extensive use of bitumen, which is already made artificially based on oil. Now waterproofing mastic is very convenient to use-it is not necessary to pre-warm up, or add any solvents. And now the work on the waterproofing of basements made of various materials is carried out quickly and efficiently. Therefore, bitumen mastic is increasingly used in modern construction.
