Review of solid fuel boilers

A solid fuel boiler is a modern equipment, with which you can economically heat the room of one or another. Due to their efficiency, they have become real competitors for gas and even more so liquid heating systems. However, each of them undoubtedly has its advantages.

As you can understand from the name, they are heaving with solid fuel. It can be: firewood, briquettes, pellets, coal, as well as wood waste under the guise of shavings or small pieces of wood. Note that the permissible size of firewood for loading into the boiler can be very different. This can depend on the type of boiler, the size of the door of the loading camera and, in fact, the loading camera itself. For example, equipment for heating a country house allows the maximum length of firewood 50 cm. This is a fairly large size that will save you from frequent chopping firewood.

It is worth noting that such solid fuel boilers can be divided on the principle of action into two groups: traditional and pyrolysis (gas generator).

The first group is a rather simple type of equipment that has practically no differences among different manufacturers. Each model of such a boiler, even among different manufacturers, consists of a heat exchanger, firebox, as well as manual temperature regulation that contributes to water heating in the boiler. All these components determine the real price of equipment, which, incidentally, is a very small. They do not use any special process of combustion of solid fuel. On the contrary, their fuel burns in the most common way, that is, from the bottom up, like a bonfire in nature. As they say, everything is perfect – just. This group of boilers has the following properties:

Efficiency indicators can reach 83%;

The operating time on one fuel laying is about 4 hours;

Electricity is not required to work such boilers, which gives you the opportunity to install them anywhere;

About the same price for all manufacturers that cannot be called high;

Self -control of temperature with a lever, as well as doors.

The second group is represented by boilers that use the principle of pyrolysis for heating. This principle is much more complicated than the one that is presented in the previous version. It is a thermal decomposition of wood for a solid residue in the form of coke and gas. This stage of decomposition helps to achieve a very high efficiency, which can be as many as 95%. It also increases their time of work, which is from 6 to 20 hours. For the duration of their work, quite a lot of external factors can affect, among which the quality of the warming of the house is included, the weather outside the window at a certain moment, etc.D. We will also pay attention to the fact that they are equipped with modern automation elements, including automatic adjustment of the temperature of the coolant, as well as installing the required temperature for several days in advance. This seriously simplifies their operation. It is worth noting that the elements of automation, high efficiency and a large operating time increase their nominal value, which may exceed the previous group of boilers by one and a half or twice. This group is endowed with the following properties:

Efficiency is about 90-95%;

A large operating time with one fuel load, which is from 6 to 20 hours;

For their operation, the presence of electricity is necessary;

Automatic control of the temperature of the coolant;

Simplicity of cleaning and maintenance.

You can buy a solid fuel boiler in almost any big city in Ukraine, whether it is Kyiv, Lviv or Dnepropetrovsk.
