The creation of this project dates from 04.09.1975. TV presenters Natalya Stetsenko and Vladimir Voroshilov. Such a game requires a wide horizons and high education of players, there will be no superfluous knowledge of culturalists, because the questions asked often contain unequivocal pun, where a certain grammatical subtlety can serve as a subtle hint to the right answer. Also, the most successful team in which specialists from different areas and with different types of thinking will be most successful, and which, moreover, are capable of the best understanding among themselves. One of the features of the game is that it always takes place live.
In addition to monetary rewards in this television program there are the following most popular prizes:
• “Sign of the Owl”, which in the final of the 1980 game was awarded Alexander Byakko;
• “Crystal owl” – is awarded to the best player or viewer (taking into account whose team won) in each series of games since 1984;
• “Diamond Owl”, which is honored with the best player according to the results of the year;
• “Crystal nest”, which is six small crystal owls on the crystal tray (in the nest), are presented with the best team of the anniversary year;
• “The shoulder of the best captain” since 2005 has been awarded every five years to the best team captain;
• “Raspberry jacket”, which was originally a symbol of the “Immortal Club Member”, however, after the Immortal Games, 1995, the presentation of this prize was abolished.
