The solemn coronation of the King of Limassol Carnival took place on Grigoris Oxentiou Square near the city Municipality.A group of Batukinio drummers and a Brazilian dance school set a festive musical tone for the king’s entry into the city.
The King of Fire entered the city with his retinue on a huge chariot. Then followed the coronation ceremony, which turned into a grand parade. The columns passed through the streets of Anexartisias, Agios Andreou, Karaiskakis, Stasinou, Andreas Drushiotis.
The celebration of Cyclopempti began in the morning from Gladstonos Street in front of Hellenic Bank and on Agios Andreou Street, in front of the Ayia Napa Church.
At noon, the Limassol Singers sang festive songs on Sarapulu Square. And in the evening, the city center plunged into a total haze of revelry.
